OSR-Style Dragonborn

As previously mentioned, I quite like Dragonborn. As a result, I've statted them, both as a race and class: in Basic Fantasy as a race and in Labyrinth Lord as a Class. Note that these are somewhat meant to be a unique take each time, as in a way there isn't really a 'proper' take on how this race could have worked had it existed back in older editions. Much like how Elves and Dwarves were classes and have changed a bit every time before becoming what we know them today. As a result, these versions aren't always equivalent to one another and more different takes on the same theme.
Dragonborn really need some less 'dungeonpunk' artwork.

Basic Fantasy

Requirements: 9 STR, 9 CHA, Can't have a DEX score higher than 17.
Restrictions: Dragonborns may become Fighters and Magic-Users. They are also allowed to combine the classes of Fighter and Magic-User.
  • If you are using the Sorcerers Expansion, then replace all instances of Magic-User for Sorcerer.
  • If you are using the Rangers And Paladins Expansion, then Dragonborn can be Paladin.
Special Abilities: Dragonborn can breathe a 15' fire cone once per day. Save vs Dragon Breath or suffer 2d4 damage. When reduced to half hit points or below, Dragonborn gain +1 to hit and damage with melee weapons.

Labyrinth Lord

Requirements: STR 9, CHA 9
Prime Requisite: STR and CHA
Hit Dice: 1d8
Maximum Level: 10

Dragonborns can use any weapon and armor. Dragonborn use the Attack Value of a fighter and Dwarves saving throws.

Reaching 9th Level: Upon reaching 9th Level, the Dragonborn form his own clan. Within a month, 2d6 1st-level Dragonborn will come to join his side and serve as his faithful soldiers so long as the Dragonborn acts honorably.

Draconic Fury: When reduced to half hit points or below, the Dragonborn gain a +1 to hit and damage with melee weapons.

Dragon Breath: Once per day, a Dragonborn can breathe a 15' cone of flames. Save versus Dragon Breath.

Elemental Resistance: Dragonborn take 2 points less of damage from fire and heat.
